Interested in selling at the Breakwater Market?
The Breakwater Market is a Sunday Market on the grassy area next to the Breakwater at Ogden Point and is operated by the James Bay Market Society who also operate the James Bay Community Market on Saturdays. The are celebrating our 23rd year.
We thank the Greater Vancouver Harbour Authority for this opportunity as well as our community sponsors: Bim Consulting, King Bros Limited, Zapco Welding and Fabrication, The Greater Vancouver Harbour Authority, Western Stevedoring, Harbour Ferries, CVS Tours, the Ogden Point Enhancement Society and the Cruise Line International Association.
We will be accepting RETURNING VENDOR applications via snail mail again this year, or if your prefer, please come to one of the jury dates below with your James Bay Market application form filled in.
The next jury session for new vendors, or existing vendors with new product, will be held at the following date:
Thursday: April 20th – 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Location: the James Bay Community Centre, 140 Oswego Street in James Bay
Note: The order will be first come first served.

All potential vendors are juried by our Jury Committee.
Our criteria is Handmade, Homemade and Homegrown.
All food vendors and food producers must attach the proper VIHA certificates for their category with their application ie, Food Safe Certificate, PH test results, VIHA permits. For a full list of VIHA requirements see the Guidelines for the Sale of Foods at Temporary Markets published by Island Health (VIHA).
Note: Bakers, food service and any vendors whose business includes touching their client ie massage must carry their own Insurance. We require a copy of your insurance policy either from the Market one or your Busines one prior to being able to vend.

Please read, print and complete our vendor application and note the following vendor requirements.
Because of the short Market season we ask our vendors to commit to the Market in advance for the dates they wish to attend in June, July and August. Payments are made monthly and in advance. Cheques for the June/July Markets are dated May 15th, 2017 and June 30th, 2017 for the August Markets. Priority will be given to those vendors who support us and attend all or most Markets
All Breakwater Market Vendors must have Business Liability Insurance and we must have a copy of the insurance policy before you can vend at the Market. For insurance details, please see the Vendor Application form.

Musicians & Performers
The Breakwater Market hires live entertainment each week. Musicians are welcome to collect tips and sell CDs. The market has 110V power, two microphones, a MM5D 5 input Mixer amp, YX10 speakers and stands. The only thing that the market has plugged into the mixer are the two microphones.
